Our Organizational Partners
The World Engagement Institute (WEI) recognizes the importance of collaboration and partnerships across sectors and diverse competencies. The following is a partial list of our international partners representing universities, businesses and civil society organizations. Our partners collaborate with WEI either through consortia for competing international grant projects, contracts or ongoing regional and local programming. Having a large network of local, regional and international institutions is essential for achieving a meaningful and sustainable impact worldwide. The complexity of real world issues such as poverty, injustice, discrimination and the violation of human rights requires diverse perspectives and a multi-sector collaborative approach. Our partners include organizations connected to WEI in its projects, mission and grant applications. We are proud of the diverse organizational identity and cross-sector partnerships represented by our collaborating agencies. We welcome collaborative opportunities with organizations, programs and institutions sharing our vision and engagement to make the world a better place.

The World Engagement Institute's academic partners include universities, schools and academic programs worldwide who have agreed to collaborate in a reciprocal generic or program specific memorandum of understanding (MOU) or letter of agreement. Our academic partners are essential to WEI's mission in order to bring sustainable changes through the capacity development of institutions vital to the social fabric of that country or region. Through our networks and collaborations we are proud to offer coordinating services which engage academic institutions with community based organizations, government and intergovernmental programs and with private and civil society organizations. WEI also provides collaborative formulas for expanding the quality and excellence of academic institutions by connecting them with already established and successful programs. Specifically, we utilize a set of academic-centered methods which bring about sustainable capacity development for the academic institutions involved while also benefiting the development of sustainable programs and socially responsible capable leaders.

The World Engagement Institute (WEI) recognizes the vital role that civil society organizations (nonprofits, nongovernmental organizations, community based organizations, etc.) play for the democratic vitality and capacity of a country. This is particularly important and urgent in societies suffering from undemocratic or post conflict fragile situations that need the active and capable participation of organized citizens to claim their rights and contribute to the economic and political development of their countries. The collaboration with civil society is also vital for academic institutions that need to be engaged and connected and at the service of the social fabric of society. Nonprofit organizations are vital to the well-being of societies and are often an indicator of a healthy economy in local and national financial measurements. Hence, the partnerships and collaborations with third sector, civil society organizations is vital to WEI's mission to develop and build capacity in the areas transitional justice, gender equality and humans security. Even in sector specific and technical programs, our collaboration with the nonprofit sector is often recognized as central to our mission and ultimately to the long term impact of our capacity development programs.

The World Engagement Institute (WEI) recognizes the fundamental importance that companies, small and medium enterprises and the private, for-profit sector has in international development. We also recognize that the private sector alone cannot unlock the complexity and systemic problems of extreme poverty, human insecurity, gender inequality and injustice. For that to happen, companies involved in poverty alleviation and international development programs need to involve other sectors while promoting local business community. They also need the collaboration and expertise with government, civil society and academia to promote sustainable changes through the necessary institutional reforms that lead to economic growth and human development. We are proud of our growing networks of private partners who share the mission and responsibility to avoid exploitative relations for the establishment of mutually beneficial partnerships.
